AI in Transit, Live: Practical Tools You Can Put to Work Monday Morning
AI is moving fast, and most of us are still sorting out what's real from what's hype. In this Café Con LIT session, Stephen Kuban, CEO of Kuban Transit Solutions, cuts through the noise with a hands-on look at how transit professionals are actually using AI today, from grant writing and NTD reporting to policy drafting and rider communications. Rather than a slides-only lecture, Stephen will build something live and show how these tools can save hours a week, no technical background required. Bring your questions and your skepticism; you'll leave with practical ideas you can use right away.
On-Ramp to Success: The Importance of a Complete Onboarding Experience In this session, participants will review the importance of a robust new-hire onboarding experience. Specifically, this session will explore how administrative departments can ensure new hires are successfully oriented both functionally and socially into their teams.
It will equip participants with tested frameworks and adaptive resources for creating or enhancing their own onboarding processes. By learning from successful cases studies and through an interactive session, participants will gain an understanding of how onboarding can aid in building a thriving team.
This session is part of the LIT Workforce Task Force Peer-to-Peer Training Series. This initiative is designed to provide practical, real-world learning opportunities led by professionals working within the public transportation industry. Unlike traditional top-down training models, this series allows professionals at the entry and mid-career levels to present directly to their peers — sharing insights, strategies, and tools they use in their daily work. These sessions also give managers and agency leadership valuable insight into the experiences and innovations emerging from the workforce, all in support of LIT's mission to strengthen professional development and build leadership capacity across the transit industry.
