Program Summary

LIT's Internship Program is designed to provide interns with:

• Paid opportunities to work for a national nonprofit organization.
   

• Hands-on assignments that will broaden their perspectives on public transportation issues, outreach efforts, nonprofit programming, and public administration.
   

• Work structure to support the LIT Board of Directors and staff in the coordination, facilitation and implementation of the programs and services that carry the mission of LIT forward.
  

• Direct access to participate in activities, innovations, and challenges that come with working for a national nonprofit organization serving the public transportation industry sector.

• Mentorship by industry professionals that will help guide you to explore your own personal career goals.

Internships at LIT

As an intern for LIT, participants will gain a full spectrum of professional experiences to leverage in their growing careers.  Interns may work either part-time or full-time in varying capacities within the organization. Some assignments may include assisting in: the facilitation of virtual programming; member relations; program management; outreach; communications and public relations efforts; event planning; assisting with web and graphic design; and assisting with administrative duties that arise from the day-to-day operations of the organization. 

The intern compensation is $15.62 per hour and work performed will be done remotely. 

Eligibility

This internship program is open to recent graduates and current students who are enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a qualifying educational institution at least part-time.

• Must show proof of enrollment of at least part time at a qualifying educational institution pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate, or proof of recent graduation.
